A procedure in which a thin, lighted tube is inserted into the vagina to enable your doctor to view the inside of your cervix and uterus in order to diagnose and treat the specific cause of abnormal bleeding.

7. Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)

During this procedure, a wire loop heated by electric current is used to remove cells and tissue in the lower genital tract (cervix and vagina) as part of the diagnosis and treatment of an abnormal or cancerous condition

A D&C involves the removal of tissue from inside the uterus in order to diagnose and treat certain uterine conditions (e.g., heavy bleeding) or to clear the uterine lining following a miscarriage or abortion.

It reconstructs the pelvic floor without the need for a large abdominal incision. In some cases, surgical mesh is used to reinforce the weakened vaginal walls.
